machine for saree
The team has automated the manual cutting old sarees into ribbons for weaving mats on handlooms.  The prototype machine developed by the team has three assemblies: the saree rolling assembly, the cutter assembly and a slider. A full length saree is wound on a bobbin shaft using paddles.  Circular rotary cutters are then used to cut the saree into ribbons of equal width. After cutting, the bobbins can be easily removed.
