Exhibition of Grassroots Innovation for Young Presidents’ Organization

On December 14, 2013, an exhibition of grassroots innovations and an interaction of innovators and Honey Bee Network (HBN) members  with members of  the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) was  held at the  Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). The event was organised jointly by SRISTI and Abellon Clean Energy. The aim of the event was to  Also present in the event. A total of 65 Young Presidents/CEOs/MDs from across India attended the event.

As the event began, Prof Anil K Gupta, introduced to the young potential change-makers, the work of  HBN, the innovations that the Network has found, added value and promoted, and the challenges that still lie ahead because of inertia of the market. The talk highlighted areas where the industry could come in and support market worthy yet socially relevant technologies, products and processes. After the talk, a stimulating discussion took place wherein young Presidents /CEOs/MDs suggested ways of getting involved.

Later, the attendees moved downstairs where an exhibition was held to showcase the technologies of SRISTI, NIF, Ignite (an event for tapping children’s creativty organised by NIF) , Techpedia  and others, to the members of YPO.

Also present in the event were several innovators from the Honey Bee Network like Mansukhbhai Prajapati ( MittiCool), Dharamveer Kamboj (Multipurpose Food Processing Machine), Paresh Panchal (Bamboo splinting machine),   Arvindbhai Patel (Natural Water Cooler), Gurmail Singh Dhonsi (Rapid Compost Aerator) and Roshanlal Vishwakarma (Sugarcane Bud Chipper).

Products like the Pressure cooker-based frothy coffee maker, Yuvaan Herbal Tea, the late MJ Joseph (Appachan)’s tree climbing climbing device etc were also displayed.

The exhibition provided a nice platform to the Young Presidents for direct interaction with innovators and HBN staff.
