SRISTI is a non-governmental organization set up to strengthen the creativity of grassroots inventors, innovators and ecopreneurs engaged in conserving biodiversity and developing eco-friendly solutions to local problems. It was set up to provide organizational, intellectual and logistics support to the Honey Bee Network. The primary objectives while setting up the organization were: systematically documenting, disseminating and developing grassroots green innovations, providing intellectual property rights protection to grassroots innovators, working on the in situ and ex situ conservation of local biodiversity, and providing venture support to grassroots innovators. SRISTI manages the Honey Bee database of innovations, and supports the publication of the Network’s newsletter in three languages, English, Hindi and Gujarati.

Editors/content writers

We are looking for editors for Honey Bee, a quarterly newsletter dedicated to the voices at grassroots. It has stories of outstanding grassroots innovations and traditional knowledge, it has the experiments of curious kids, it has the account of the Shodhyatras which is an endeavour to scout and felicitate innovators at grassroots. If you have a flair for writing and writing for a cause, you would love your contribution here. You get to interact with the innovators, scientists and technologist, occasional travel to different parts of the country, to your comfort/discomfort. We assure you that it will be an insightful journey between the possible and the impossible!

Qualification(s)

Fluency and command over English is what we are looking for. You can be a post graduate in English or any other discipline, we do not mind. We believe that dedication and hard work can actually make you an expert of a subject which you have not studied in school or college!

Research assistant(s)

Are you into academics or inclined towards it? Here is a wonderful opportunity to learn and unlearn from Prof Anil K Gupta. You can assist him in various courses related to agriculture, innovations and creativity. Here you participate in designing courses, advocate for policy changes, interact with a wide diaspora of national and international students which you help you to find your niche in the academic world.

Qualification(s)

A doctorate or a post graduate in Agricultural/Environmental/Social  sciences with an inclination towards academics and publication.

Assistant for ICCIG Conference

The Third International Conference on Creativity and Innovation at Grassroots is scheduled for 15-19 January 2015 at IIMA. The first conference was held in 1997 and the second in 2012. This conference will provide an opportunity to scale up the various platforms for getting unsolved social problems solved through symmetrical reciprocal open innovation framework.

Qualification(s)

An excellent organizing capacity, ability to keep your calm and work under tight deadlines are the most essential requirements and on top of it, if you can deal with various stakeholders from students to top scholars, from vendors to designers, then that is exactly what we are looking for. Educational qualification might include a post graduate degree or a management degree as well.
